The Doonbeg 5k Road Race sponsored by Tommy Tubridy Bar and restaurant will take place on Friday evening 17th August 2007 around the village of Doonbeg starting at 7 . 00 pm with the Juvenile Races and the 5k Open Road Race for Senior, Junior, and Masters men and ladies will commence at 7 . 30pm.

The Juvenile Races will start at 7 . 00pm and their will be races for U/ 9 300m, U/11 400m, U/13 600m, and U/ 15’s 800m for Boys and Girls and all races will be very well contested with many holiday makers at the seaside village and they will enjoy a great evening of road races with entries taken at Tubridys Bar in Doonbeg.

This Senior, Masters, and Junior 5k road race will be run over a very flat and fast course around the village of Doonbeg and the senior mens race will once again be one mighty contest with the 2006 title holder James Liddane defending his title and he will have to be at his very best with Jason Fahy Olympic Harriers who finished third in the Dermot Power Memorial looks like the man they all have to beat also in contention Brian Murphy Marian, James Mc Intyre Tulla, with a very good contest for the masters titles, Martin Clancy, James Kenny, Michael Harvey all Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare, Eugene Moynihan, Tom Geraghty Marian, Tom Mackey Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare, Tommy Madden Marian along with Sean Whelan Ennis Track Club.

Donal Howley Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare and Thomas Garrahy will contest the Junior mens title along with David Quinn, Liam Markham St Marys, and Padraigh Mc Carthy Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare.

Tulla A.C. and Marian will again start as favourites for the team award along with Bohermeen, Co. Meath, and last years title holders Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare, Ennis Track Club, St. Marys .

The Ladies contest is a wide open affair with Claire Madigan St Johns last years title holder looking good to retain her crown from Loretta Duggan St Marys, Hilda O’Connor Ennis Track Club, Sue Garrahy, Maura Falsey, both Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare with Cushla Murphy Hehir Marian contesting the masters ladies along with Christine Organ and Siobhan Lennon.
