Do you want to take on the Streets of Galway! Athenry AC is here to help!

Many people take on the annual Streets of Galway 8km road race as a good challenge to get themselves fit and have a bit of fun over the summer. There's less than 50 days to go and regardless of your level, Athenry AC can help.

Our main training sessions take part on Saturday mornings, and we cater for two groups.

At 10am, our meet and train takes off from the Church car park.

This run is at a social pace, with multiple levels of ability catered for. Whether you're struggling to get out on the road at all, or if you'd just prefer a bit of company as you clock up the miles, this is for you.

This was highly successful over the last few months in getting women ready for the mini marathon, as well as getting others back on the road after breaks caused by injury, and yet more who finally decided that it was time to get some exercise.

At 9am, our training runs continues a 4 year unbroken streak. This run varies it's route every week, but generally goes for about 4-5 miles at about 8 - 8.30 min per mile pace.

To join in on either of these sessions, just show up on Saturday morning and say hello. You'll meet a friendly bunch happy to help you along.
