Fergus Athletic Club are holding the Patrick O'Dea, Cross Country and Road Races on Sunday 20th November 2005 starting at 12 . 00noon sharp.
The cross country races will take place in Decomade, across from the Post Office on the Main Ennis - Lissycasey road and their will be races for U/7, U/8, U/10, U/12, U/14, U/16's Boys and Girls, with medals for all the U/7's and the first twelve in all other race groups with a top prizes for the Best Overall Club.
The Patrick O'Dea Cup for Senior Men will take place on the road and this year the race will start in front of the Credit Union and around by Kearney’s Pub and finish at Kearneys Pub Lissycasey and again Gerry Ryan Galway City Harriers winner of the Bernie Meaney Memorial 5 . 5ml road race and St Cronans 4 mile road is a clear favourite to take another title from Dermot Galvin St. Johns, James Mc Intyre Tulla, Ian Egan Galway City Harriers with Pat Nugent, among the favourites for the masters O/40 title along with Mike Solan Tulla, the masters O/45’s Eugene Moynihan Marian looks good to take another title from James Kenny Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare with Michael Harvey Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare, Tommy Madden Marian, Denis Meaney St. Marys and Frank Garrihy Ennis Track Club battling for major honours in the masters O/50’s
Their will be Team Prizes in the Novice and Senior mens races with (4 to score) and teams must be declaired on Entry.
The ladies race will also start at the Credit Union and finish in front of Kearney Pub with Veronica Colleran Ennis Track Club looking good to take another major title from Tracy Guilfoyle, Kilnaboy, Ellen Solan St. Cronans Sue Garrahy, Dympna O’Dwyer, Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare Loretta Duggan St. Marys, Marion O’Loughlin, Ita Doherty, Ennis Track Club and Ciara Hassett Marian.
Carmel Mc Domhnaill West Limerick and Maura Falsey Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare will contest the masters ladies along with Cushla Murphy Hehir Marian, Bernie Kelly Galway City Harriers.
