Sinead Tuohy won a bronze medal in the girls under 18 high jump on the last weekend of the All Ireland Juvenile athletic finals in Tullamore. This was great reward not just for Sinead but also for coach Dermot McNamara.

Others to compete over the weekend were Sorcha Murphy in the high jump, Orlaith McGrath 200m, Lorna Hannon 1500m, Helen Geraghty 1500m and Yvonne Keary 1500m. Athenry also had a number of relay teams competing in finals over the weekend, however our 2 strongest relay teams with real medal chances the under 16 girls and under 14 boys were unable to compete due to injuries.
