In what was the largest turnout ever for the club championships we had over 70 runners line up at the Athenry Medical Centre for this year's event, the 12th.

With the handicap system in place we had approximately 18 minutes between the first & last starter with Ray Somers the final runner out of the blocks. He duly lived up to his handicap position by taking home the prize of fastest runner on the night. The race was run over the recent 5KM Series course.

First past the post & winner of this years Championship was Peter Elwood whilst Masters Champion goes to Anne Hunter.

Congrats on a well organised event must go to Jim Leahy, Philip Magnier & their large gang of volunteers last night. Full report to follow.
