Our very own Brian O’Connor defended the Garafrauns to Dunmore Road Race

that is part of the annual Dunmore Festival. Although Brian’s time was a fraction slower than last year over the 6k course he did well to come home first once again. Like some others in the club Brian had struggled through spring and early summer with injury, but this defence of last year’s win shows that he’s right back on form. Eighty-two other entrants had gone to the line this year including some members of Tuam AC. Indeed, David Mullins of Tuam AC was second home with Ollie Hannon of Dunmore in third place.

Brian received a nice crystal trophy for his efforts and gets to retain the race’s perpetual shield for another twelve months. Brian was very complimentary about the race organisation which was run on closed roads and which was enthusiastically supported by the local community.
