Marathon de Sable

Not sure whether to congratulate or commiserate with these two lucky Athenry AC members who had their applications accepted for the 2009 running of the Marathon Des Sables at about three milliseconds past 9am, when entries opened and immediately closed.

It seems there were many disappointed souls whose applications were rejected for not being in on time. Eat your heart out, John Walshe of Ballycotton!

Ray's only problem is that this race will only count as one marathon in his drive to 100. Bridget-Anne's problem is trying to find enough desert to train with out in East Galway :).
