Attached find the provisional result and prize list for the second annual Corofin AC "Winning Way" 8KM Road Race held today, 13 November.

Almost perfect conditions - give or take a bracing wind - greeted the 93 starters (and finishers) this afternoon. A surprise appearance from Gary Thornton resulted in an easy victory for this GCH athlete in a useful 25:03. Second was his team-mate (and formerly Athenry AC) Brian O'Connor, followed in very close proximity by Athenry AC's own Mick Mice (1st M40), fresh from running his 8th (E-I-G-H-T-H) sub-3 hour marathon in 2011 in Dublin. Ger Cronin was 4th home and 3rd senior man.

The women's race was won by Fiona Gettings with Kathleen Reilly second wowan home (1st W50). Athenry AC's Bernie Mulryan was second senior woman while Donna Gallagher was third. The masters men's prizes were won by the usual suspects: Tommy Joe Whyte, Martin McEvilly and Roger Rushe!

Congratulations to Mary & Tommy Farragher and all in Corofin AC on a lovely race and refreshments afterwards.
