Normal service resumed yesterday in Corofin with Matt Bidwell continuing his dominance of the Galway road racing scene, taking 1st position in a time of 26.11, a full three & a half minutes ahead of 2nd placed Ian Egan of Tuam AC. Tuam also took the 3rd place with Tommy Joe White a further 44 seconds back.

The high number of Athenry AC members who are deservedly resting after the Dublin City Marathon was evident with only four members running yesterday, probably the most noticeable being Bernie Mulryan, who is still easing her way back into competition after a long layoff. Bernie finished in 35.34, just one minute behind James Lundon, but more importantly also just a minute behind Jaqueline O’ Donnell (GCH) & six seconds behind Mary Kealy (Craughwell) which placed her 3rd female overall. Noreen Cooley ran a 43.46 whilst Martina McShane ran a 45.47.
