A strong team of Athenry women took part in the Galway Women's Mini-Marathon road race at the weekend, and Eimear Butler led the entire field home in some style. The race took place around Salthill and by the time the runners made their way back to the finishing line Eimear was well clear of Castlegar AC's Kathryn Casserly and Helen Corbett in second and third places respectively.  Miriam Wall was 7th overall and 3rd W35.

Eimear has established herself as one of the most consistent performers on both road and acrosss the country this season and there's hopefully more to come. Congratulations Eimer on another fine win.

Eimer was of course joined by a number of other Athenry women in the event and it was heartening to see Athenry singlets liberally sprinkled throughout the field.
