Online entries are now closed for this year's Fields of Athenry 10k Road Race. We will still accept some entries on race morning but as the number of pre-registered participants is far in excess of what we had expected the number of late entries has to be limited so that we can keep the numbers participating at a safe and managable level. In order to allow us to process late entries as speedily as possible and to avoid dissapointment please attend race registration no later than 10:00am on the day of the race.

Pre-registered runners will find their race pack in the hall of the Presentation College Athenry on race morning. This should be a simple process of identifying yourself at the desk and picking up your envelope and race souvenir. Once again we advise people to attend as early as they can as crowds are likely to be bigger than last year and it's always best to expect activities like parking and changing to take longer than you might have expected.

Runners and walkers should note that the railway bridge on the Tuam Road between the Presentation College and the 'Tech' is closed due to raod works. Runners will not be able to use this bridge to access the race start or for any other purpose on race day. The bridge is completely out of bounds for all traffic and pedestrians.

The Junior Fun Run has attracted a large number of entries and anyone who wants to take part in this race should register in plenty of time. The 'off' for the Junior Fun Run will be at 10:15 SHARP in order to avoid any complications with the senior race.

Race HQ will be in the Presentation College Athenry.
Registration will open at 09:00am and close at 10:30am.
Race starts at 11:00am.

All race entrants will receive a souvenir woolly hat and the first fifty finishers in the race will be presented with a ‘Top 50’ t-shirt in recognition of their achievement.

The use of headphones (iPods, radios etc) is not allowed during the race and when entering you agree that you will not use equipment like this during the event. This is for your own safety and we hope you’ll comply with this requirement.

The race awards ceremony will take place in the Presentation College Hall at 12:30am on race day.

Provisional race results for all entrants will be published on www.AthenryAC.com on 27-12-07

For the first time this year there will also be a Juvenile fun (under 16s). Distance approx 1km. This run will start at 10:15 sharp. Registration for this race closes at 10:00am. Entry fee € 5. More complete details of this event will be available closer to the day.
