Mayo AC's 2008 Road Race League, sponsored by C & C Cellular, will begin with the Carramore 10k on Saturday May 17th. This will the first chance for participants to pick up League points (first 25 men/women finishers) following the postponement of the Ballyhaunis 8k race which will be re-scheduled - more on that as soon as the new date is confirmed. The Carramore 10k is a firm favourite on the Western athletics calendar, as it is a fast one lap rural course. There is good community spirit and lots of local help in support of the main organiser Christy Heneghan (087-1259435).

Start and finish is located at Claregalway Community Centre.
Parking is extremely limited at this location and we would ask runners to park on the main Claregalway/Oranmore Road on the Claregalway side. There will be no parking allowed in the finish/start area.
The course is one circuit of 5k. There is one major hill with a climb of 20 metres over a distance of 400 metres at the 2k mark. After that there is a sharp downhill for the same distance. The last 1.5k is mostly downhill/flat.
Very limited late entries will be taken on the night but only up to 7:30 pm.

The Loughrea leg of the Galway May 5KM series takes place on May 27 on the old Galway road. It is the same course as last year's race that proved such a big hit with the athletes.
There will be absolutely no entries taken on the night!
In the interests of safety a no-headphones policy will be implemented.
The race starts at 8.00pm sharp. You are advised to arrive in Loughrea at 7.15pm to allow for parking, warm up etc.
Loughrea AC would greatly appreciate anyone who can volunteer to help out.
