A 10 mile and a 10k road race take place on May 5th in Drumlish, Co. Longford. The 10 mile starts at 12.30 in the Village Centre and the 10k starts at the same location at 12.45.
Both routes are Athletics Ireland measured and certified and have a county board permit. Chip timing is in operation and registration is available from the Events Calendar at www.precisiontiming.net.
The 10k course features a relatively testing climb for the first 1.5k, this gives gentle rolling hills with the final 3k being mostly downhill. The 10 mile is the real challenge with a number of tough climbs in the first half of the race, a genuine test of endurance and fitness. The final 5 mile is mostly downhill, a chance to recover and pick up pace.
