Charity Race - Permit sponsored by East Galway AC.

Where & When - Our event is taking place on Sunday Sept 7th @ 12 noon in the scenic setting of Monivea Woods & Village which is 9.5km North East of Athenry and only 20 minutes past the Galway Airport.

Registering – You can register online at www.runireland.com or on the day itself. We will be located  in the lounge of the Woodside Bar. Registration desks will be open from 10:30am and race numbers can be picked from the desks. Last registrations on the morning are at 11:45am. We will also be providing an area for you to drop off your belongings ... i.e. extra clothing, car keys etc while you are running. Simply leave your belongings in the bag supplied, your name & telephone number will be put on the bag and we will leave it aside in a supervised area to keep it safe till you collect it again.

Our chosen Charities– This year we have chosen to charities who will each receive a percentage of our registration fees. They are 1. The Abbeyknockmoy Benevolent Fund & 2. Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.

The Abbeyknockmoy Benevolent Fundwas set up to provide assistance to the people in the parish of Abbeyknockmoy in the event of a bereavement. Over the years the fund has assisted many families when they needed it most.

Cystic Fibrosis Ireland – This year Pat Divilly as ambassador for CF, has set out to raise awareness of the disease and also to raise vital funds to aid with care & treatment. From this stemmed the PDF4CF crew. It was Pat’s aim to bring a crew of 400 to ‘Tough Mudder’ and raise over €100,000 for CF in the process. To date there are over 470 people signed up to PDF4CF and each person is out there working away in a bid to meet the €100,000 target.  All funds raised are being split between CF Ireland and the Cystic Fibrosis Galway Hospital Project.
