How to Publish information to the website
A good website lives and dies by the content provided by the members.
To this end, I'll try and help those who want to add information but are relutant to give it a go.
You can post comments even if you don't set up an account.
To post events, results, stories, you do need to sign up for an account. Don't worry, it's quick and painless.
First of all, when adding material, it's hard to mess up
- You can always edit your posts and delete them if you don't like the look of it
- You can always ask me nicely to help you out
- Failing that, you could just tell me what you want to put up and I'll do it.
- [Please, at least have a go, I'll still be there to clean up after you if it all goes pear-shaped!]
To Post a running event.
Select create 'content - event' from the menu on the left.
Put in a title - eg 'Athenry 10km race'
The news section is to categorise the information on the website.
Select 'Scheduled race event'.
Enter location. Ideally the location of race HQ.
Enter details. This should include as much details as needed for the race; entry fee, distance etc.
You can ignore Input Format
Start time: For most events, input event start and finish time as the same time.
Not everybody will finish at the same time!
You can attach and entry form if you have it.
Click preview to see how it looks.
If you're happy with that, click sumit.
You're done!
Thanks for your input!
