Update: Irish Record Holder, and future Olympian, Paul Hession will present the medals to all juvenile athletes after the race!

This year's Fields of Athenry 10k Road Race will be accompanied by a 1km Fun Run for juvenile athletes, that is those under sixteen years of age. As this is the first time we've held such a run it's difficult to know how many participants we're likely to have and so we'd encourage as many of our younger athletes as possible to register before race day. For each young athlete who completes the course there'll be the reward of a medal and a 'goodie-bag' with some post race nourishment.

An entry form is attached to this article and so why not print it down and get your name down for the inaugural Athenry Juvenile Fun Run.

The race will be around the streets of Athenry finishing at the Arch, it is open to ages up to and including under sixteen, younger children should be accompanied by an adult.

Closing date for entries Tuesday 18th December.

A limited amount of entries will be taken on the morning of the race.
