The DCM website seems to be suffering like my ankle tendons - overstretched and undertrained! A summary of club finishers below has been added - updated 02-Nov with as much information as we can piece together from AAI and comments. Apologies to anyone left out of initial results but it's been tricky piecing together!

Mick Rice led the Athenry men's team home, with yet another sub three hour marathon. Deirdre Quinn ran an excellent PB, dropping the 3:30 pacers to take the ladies home in 3:27.

The AAI website has a first draft of the Irish results, and viewing them is about a million times faster than the official website. Peadar and Martin fought it out in the M65 category but both seem to be out of luck medal-wise. Both finished within seconds of each other, though they they started in different waves, amazingly close actually considerin.

See http://www.athleticsireland.ie/content/?p=21786.

Comment from the dublinmarathon.ie website:

"Please note that the results search feature has been temporarily limited to just searching by bib number. We hope to restore full search capabilities on Thurs 3 Nov 12:00 GMT. In the meantime, the race organisers are checking the raw results data for errors and will be uploading more complete datasets as they become available, so please be patient if your bib number is not yet showing up."

Well done all - what a fantastic turnout and performance from the club!

Well done & congrats to all athenry runners yesterday, as a spectator dying to be out there, it was great to see so many athenry tops during the run. It was a great achievement by the club to have so many taking part. Well done again,Noel

Congrats to Mick and everyone from the club. Once the results are back up, and names are trawled, one "familiar" - (at least to the older member of the club) name, Liam Mycroft appears, finishing in 4:24. Have to report it's not me, the Athenry Member, it's my son, Liam Og, who those who were in Ballycotton back in 2001 met when he was but a child. His first year running, and his first Marathon - Makes me want to get back to running a marathon. Oh well, I'll stick to the 8Km race in a couple of weeks here in Buenos Aires. Well done everyone. - Liam (the older one!).....

I joined fit4life in June 2010 and never thought that I would run a marathon! Only for the support and encouragement of everyone at Athenry AC, I would never have dreamed of crossing the finish line last Monday. Thanks to everyone, from Mick Rice and his plan, to Jane Ann and all at the speed sessions, Maeve and Deirdre who got me started in the first place and especially my training gang, Elaine, Marie (the fountain of knowledge), Frances, Liam and Maria! Thank you all! It's great to be a member of such a great club!
Edel.

Well done to everyone who took part in Dublin. Athenry AC were out in force. As it was my first marathon I would like to give a special thanks to my running partner on the day - Aoife Callan. Only for her constant encouragement (& putting up with all my compaints!!) through every mile my goal of 3.45 would never have been reached. Also a thanks to my so called coaches, Maeve & Deirdre who were with me through every bit of my training. Thanks to a great club and all its support!
