Well the weather didn't ddin't detract from some of the hardier runners in Galway as the took to the track in search of an exclusive PB.

This reporter doesn't know of many track miles held in the country this year, so well done those that took the opportunity when it arose.

4th running of the Magic Mile, at Dangan Track Galway

The event was graced by an up and coming talent in the form of Daire Farrell of Carrick AC who stormed to a fast 4:44 in less than ideal conditions. Daire hadn't been happy with his performance over 800m at the National Track and Field championships at the weekend, so he took the chance to put that behind him as soon as possible.

The picture shows the youngest participant of the night, Tiernan Burke who failed in a valiant attempt to outrun his mother on the home straight, but picked up a spot prize for his troubles.

The were runners of all standards, including many Fit 4 Life members  who had taken part on the 5km series trying out a shorter distance, as well as some of the regular attendees at the Galway Track n Field series.

Stay tuned to this website for more details of the next Magic Mile.
