See attached a full provisional result from today's very successful F4L 5KM out in Newcastle, Athenry.

Congrats to Maria Hehir and her band of helpers on a very efficient race.  The weather stayed dry too, which alays helps.

A small gallery of images from the day can be seen here.

Race Director's Report:

I couldn’t have asked for a better day: the weather was perfect and all the weeks of planning paid off.  The race started exactly on time and all of the 189 people who ran in this year's F4L race finished it with smiles on their faces.

First to cross the line was Philip Niland, Celbridge AC, in a time of 17.43, followed closely by Sinead Brody, Galway City Harriers, in a time of 19.31.

The F4L winners were Fergal Conneely, OTRA, in a time of 23.12 and Josephine Heffernan, Carnmore, in 24.03.

Everyone who took part in the race were winners; for some it was there 1st race; for others seen how much they have improved.

I would like to say many thanks to the 189 who ran in this year's race.  Nearly €2000 was raised for Western Alzheimer and a huge thanks to all who supported it:
