A number of Athenry juvenile athletes travelled to a wet and windy venue at Calry Sligo last weekend to compete in the Connacht Even Ages Cross Country Championship. All our athletes were representing Galway rather than their club as we did not have sufficient athletes to enter club teams. In the Connacht championship the first six finishers for Galway are awarded county medals if the county finishes in the top three, while the first ten finishers are normally asked to represent Galway in the cross country All Irelands held later in the year.
Best of luck to all our juvenile Athletes representing Athenry and Galway in the Connaght Even Ages Cross country Championship in Sligo on Sunday!
