Annaghdown 10KM Official Results and Report
Posted July 2nd, 2008 by jameslundonThe Annaghdown Summer Solstice 10K took place on Saturday June 21st. The day started off wet, and then got wetter! Despite this, over 150 brave souls from all over the country, and some as far afield as Scotland and Sydney made it to the starting line. The race only had to be delayed by a mere 5 minutes and once the worse of the rain stopped, they were off. The weather actually cooperated and it was dry for the duration of the run and at the finish. In fact it was so nice it convinced some folks to take a dip in the lake to cool off.

Provisional Results of 2008 Galway May 5KM Series Race 5 - Loughrea
Posted May 27th, 2008 by jameslundonThe fifth race of this year's Galway 5km Series was held last evening in Loughrea, and was, as we've all come to expect by this stage, another great evening out. There was a really enjoyable atmosphere around the starting line as the hugely experienced Loughrea AC organisers acted as perfect hosts. Although this series has always been about 'no-frills' running and walking, Loughrea AC made everyone feel so welcome and provided so many nice organisational touches that you were made to feel like you were at a championship race.

Provisional Results of 2008 Galway May 5KM Series Race 4 - Clare River Harriers (Claregalway)
Posted May 21st, 2008 by jameslundonAnother Tuesday night in Galway in early summer and another fantastic night's running. Clare River Harriers made their debut in the series last night as race organisers and put on a great race. The weather just about held up and there was another fantastic turn-out with in excess of 260 runners and walkers on the line at 08:00pm. The host club had provided a challenging course with more than one climb included into the 3.1 miles and a stiff breeze added a little to the difficulty of the task.
