Provisional results of 2008 Galway May 5KM Series Race 3 - Craughwell

A large amount of work has gone into these Provisional results and we are very thankful to one of the Mullins (Tuam AC) clan for capturing the vast majority of the finishers on a camera phone. Mark Davis has been able to convert the resulting 3pg file to AVI and thereafter onto Google Video and for doing the really hard work of converting this information into hard finishing times.

Provisional results of 2008 Galway May 5KM Series Race 2 - Tuam

Another great night out in Tuam last Tuesday as the second in the Galway May 5km Series for 2008 took place. Local organiser Brendan Monaghan and his dedicated crew of Tuam AC volunteers put on a great show and the race went off very well. At the very front of the field our very own Brian O'Connor crossed the line first and he had 263 enthusiastic souls trailing in his wake.

Brian O'Connor - In Flying Form!

NB. Carney Lissadell 10k Race Result Below

Rumours have been perculating through to Athenry AC Central for the past few months that one of our top 10k'ers Brian O'Connor was "...training like a trojan..." . Other words like "madman" and "lunatic" were bandied about as well. We were told that he was preparing well for the National 10k in Athenry in April and was focused on running a good race there.

Masters of Fine Running, Jumping, Putting...

The past two weekends have seen some mighty running, throwing, jumping, and cross countrying at two national events for masters athletes.

Masters, or veterans, athletics starts at the over 35 age bracket and continues at 5 year intervals, up to...well, pretty much indefinitely, assuming someone turns up to compete.
