A massive crowd in Oranmore on Wednesday evening (21 August) for the second running (2011 was the first) of their out-and-back 5KM.  A number of Athenry AC runners took part.  The weather held up, though there was a bit of an onshore breeze to buffet the runners on the outward out.  Congrats to Maree AC on a successful race.  The result is here.

A very good crowd was in Clareglaway for the 28th running of CRH's club race on Saturday evening (24 August) , around the restored old one-loop course.  The weather stayed clement though the road surface itself was slippy and had water pools on some of it.  Athenry AC women featured strongly in the results, with the senior woman and W40 winners being our own Jane-Ann and Miriam (both running lifetime PB - taking 20 seconds of each, I'm reliably informed) as well as Siobhan Guinan and Mairead Sullivan picking up senior woman prizes.  The result is here.
