Paul Hession finished a creditable second to US sprint sensation Jeremy Wariner in the Ostrava Golden Spike meeting in the Czech Republic tonight in a time of 32:47. Warriner's winning time was 31:72. Paul Hession's fellow Irishman Paul McKee finished fourth in 33:33.

Paul's time is considerably faster than the previous Irish men's senior record for the distance which is credited to Gordon Kennedy in Sydney in 2000.

We'll post more details as they come to hand.

Congratulations from all of us at home Paul.
