Another absolutely beautiful evening in Craughwell was a gift from heaven for Galway 'fitness freaks' last night. The small roads that suround the beautiful East Galway town were thronged with cotton and lycra clad runners and walkers of all varieties. It was quickly clear that there would be a large turnout given that the local club were accepting 'one off' entries on the night. The increased numbers on the night only served to increase the sense of excitement and anticipation amongst the assembled crowd.

When the running got started there was a large contingent of Athenry runners to the fore, and in the middle and the back :-) As we've come to expect the organisation was great and the race was trouble free from what I could see.

Our sincere thanks go to all the members in Craughwell for their efforts in hosting the race and we're already looking forward to our next visit in 2010.

Mark Davis has posted a draft set of results and a short report on the Craughwell site here.

We'll post more on the Athenry performances here when we've had a chance to do the full 'post match analysis'.
