Word reaches the AAC.com newsdesk of the Marathon Club Ireland Championships, which took place last Saturday morning (22 September) in Portumna.

Ruthann Sheehan was first woman home (what deep well does this woman get her physical and mental strength from?) in 3:25’ish with Mick Rice first man home with 2:54 (another sub three).  Neither of them won anything though as it was a handicap but the good new for Athenry AC does not stop there, with George Livanos probably winning with a new PB of 3:35-ish.

Finally, oh, and, Ray O'Connor finished his 114th-or-so marathon in what has been a relatively quiet year for the chap to date!
