5k Club Championships Go Very Well

We had 51 runners at Newcastle for our 9th annual 5k handicapped Club Championships, we believe this to be a record turnout. It took us a while to figure some of the placings and times. Please let us know with a comment or a mail to [email protected] if you have any information to add.

Congratulations to Club Champion 2012 Esther O'Flaherty (on left below), who gives the Tuesday sessions and Jane-Ann credit for her brilliant improvement this year. Congratulations also to Darina Keating (right below), Master Champion 2012, who repeated her success of last year by maintaining a steady improvement in her running times. If there is one thing that works in running it is perseverance in training.

Ray Somers kept up his great form by registering as Fastest Runner on the evening, well done. While Diarmuid Quill (centre below) won the accolade of First Guest home. Diarmuid, fellow guests Brendan Monaghan (left below) and Brendan Kennelly, had a good but fair, I believe, contest with our own James Lundon (right below) on the evening, with James triumphing this particular time.
