"Larne Half Marathon

The Premier Power Larne Half Marathon promoted by Larne Athletic Club will take place on Saturday 1st April, starting at 2.00 pm. The club is pleased to announce that this year's event is being sponsored for a third year by Premier Power Limited. Attracting over two hundred runners last year, it is hoped that the support of Premier Power Limited will enable the event to further grow and increase in prestige. The 13.1 mile course takes in a scenic coastal route starting on (Chaine Memorial) Tower Road and including Curran Road, Glenarm Road, Coast Road to Ballygally, Croft Road, Ballymullock Road, Cairncastle, Cairncastle Road, Ballygally, returning to Larne along the Coast Road and finally along the promenade to the finish at Larne Leisure Centre. The timing of the event is ideal for runners who are preparing for the London Marathon and the May Day Belfast Marathon. The prize fund includes generous cash prizes in all the usual age categories. Each entrant will also receive a commemorative T-shirt and a bag of refreshments. The first team of six counting runners will also be rewarded.
