The 16th Annual Balla 10k takes place on Saturday July 26th @ 7pm. Westaro Hosing Ltd, (Castlebar) are the main sponsors of the race, the third of nine races in the 2008 Mayo AC Open Road Race League.

The one lap rural course is recognised as a 'tough but fair up-and-down' but is a very popular mid-summer race, and is used by many club athletes and those on fitness programmes to check out their performance levels this season or against previous Balla years. League points are awarded to the first 25 men/women finishers.

Prizes: First 6 men and first 6 women overall

first 3 men o40, first 3 women o35,

first 2 men o50, first 2 women o50,

first man o 70; first woman over 60

first two boys and girls under 18.

There is a 2k race/walk sponsored by the Sheebeen for under 16s at 6.30pm - prizes for first 3 boys and girls, medals for all finishers.

The 10k race starts around the corner from the registration point in Balla Resource Centre and finishes just outside it on the main street. Entry is €10 - T shirt and goodie bag for all participants. Race organiser: Brendan Conwell 0872941227.
