Robert Malseed, Westport AC, from TĂșr Mhic Éadaigh in Mayo, was the winner of the fifth Conamara 10k on Saturday [10 October 2015]. Robert finished in a time of 35:19, beating last year’s winner, Richard Farnan, who finished second. Peadar Ó Cathasaigh from Rathfarnham, Dublin, finished third. Colm Conway of Connemara AC was the first local finisher.
 
Joanne O’Boyle of Galway City Harriers was the first woman home in a time of 44:45, with Noreen Breathnach of nearby Cill Chiaráin finishing second and Barbara Bergin of the organising TríSpórt club finishing third. In the age group results, Deyrick Deane was the first male over 40, and Maureen Devaney the first female. Local Carna runner, Áine Uí Choileáin, was the first female over 50, with Daithí Murphy of Elfin, Roscommon, the first male over fifty.
 
Just under 100 runners started on the day, on what a perfect day for running on what is one of the country’s most scenic road races.
