Route
The course is over open roads, albeit extremely quiet and rural with the race participants staying on the right hand side of the road. The race begins on a level stretch followed by a small decline turning left at the junction. The route continues level until at the 630 metre mark where there is a left turn into the Tawin road. There follows a gradual incline with a corresponding decline at the 770 metre mark. The route is then level up the 1KM point.
The second kilometre starts downhill on a windy stretch which then levels off for a distance of 350 metres before climbing up to the start of the 3KM mark. The third kilometre commences with downhill section for a distance of 400 metres, before levelling off for the remainder of this kilometre. Kilometre 4 is level for the entire distance with the race turning point occurring at the 4.55KM mark.
The race proceeds on that portion of the route already covered on the outbound leg but travelling in the opposite direction up to the 5.7KM point, then turning right continuing along the shoreline. The sixth kilometre starts level and then turns left with a steep incline easing to a gradual windy incline at 6.2KM before levelling off for the remainder of the kilometre.
Kilometre 7 begins level with a short straight stretch followed y a 90 degree left turn leading on to the second last incline of the race. At the top there is a long gradual descent to the end of this kilometre. The 8th and final kilometre of the race is mainly level with a 90 degree right turn midway through. There is one final right turn 130 metres from the race end with a small incline, levelling off for the final 70 metres. The race finishes with the runners moving to the left hand side of the road, funnelling in to the Community Centre car park.
