Many thanks to all who attended this year's Run in the Woods on Saturday, 5 September (eve of 2015 All-Ireland Hurling Final). With the 10km being a new addition, we figured numbers would be a little low but it certainly wasn't lacking in talent or spirit. A fabulous bunch of athletes entered what was a very challenging route right through the heart of the woods.

In the 5km the attendance was good and in particular with an increase in Junior entrants this year.

We had Janet Griffin put the 5km entrants through a vigorous warm up to get them ready for off and we'd like to thank Janet for her time.

James Lundon of Athenry AC and Vincent Conway of East Galway AC were on hand to coordinate the finish line results.

Dee Jordan provided a fantastic post race BBQ.

As always events like this don't happen without people so to all who volunteered their time, we'd like to extend our sincere gratitude.

Again, a massive thank you to all who made this possible, to those who sponsored us and also to Coilte for the great work done to parts of the woods in advance of this years event.

We have received some feedback on the new routes and will be applying this information to next year's race but until then thank you all for participating.

Sharon Gannon.
