Athenry AC's juvenile athletes enjoyed three successful days out over the course of the Athletics Ireland All-Ireland Championships for U13's to U19's culminating in an All-Ireland silver medal for Katelyn Duane in the u18 Girls 200m.

Katelyn clocked 25.99 to win the silver medal marginally ahead of GCH's Aedin Esslemont after a titanic battle down the home straight. Aedin clocked 26.00 for the bronze. Previously, these positions were reversed when Aedin got in ahead of Katelyn to snatch the bronze medal in the 100m with Katelyn having to settle for 4th.

In the U14 Boy's 200m Cian Kelly qualified for the final where he finished 8th in 27.34. Earlier Cian had posted an excellent 4th in the 80m final clocking 10.69.

Maria Cooney finished a strong 6th in the U14 girls 75m hurdles in 12.9. Maria also ran well in the heats of the 80m. Aoife Touhy ran strongly in the U18 Girl's 1500m clocking 5:13.76 for 7th place.

Darragh Whyte narrowly missed out on qualification for the U15 200m final, while Cathal Kelly was forced to pull up in the heats of the U16 Boy's 200m with an injured hamstring. Both athletes also competed in the 100m heats. Tara Murphy placed 9th in the U14 Girls discus with a throw of 15.72 and also competed in the 75m hurdles.

Sorcha Murphy cleared 4.29 metres for 11th in the U16 girls long jump and also took 9th in the high jump with a 1.40m clearance, while also running strongly in the 100m heats. Serena Hansberry finished 10th in the U17 Girls Long Jump with a 4.56m leap, while Letitia Ryan Collins cleared 3.75m for 13th in the U15 Girls Long Jump. Letitia also ran well in the heats of the 80m hurdles and 100m.

Previously, on the 14th of June and also in Tullamore, Athenry's youngster had a super day out at the Athletics Ireland Team Championshionchips for U9's, 10's 11's and 12's. Athenry AC picked up the bronze medals in the U9 girls 4x100m. Aisling Kenny, Siobhhan McGrath, Stephanie Quinn, Aobhain Carr and Niamh Hannon were the successcful athletes.

The boy's U9's also put in a great performance finishing 7th in the 4x100m. The team comprised of Nathan Healy, Cathal Hynes, Killian Lawless, Ryan Collins and Sean Cunningham.
