Charity Race - Permit sponsored by East Galway AC

Following the success of last year's inaugural event of the Run in the Woods, Abbeyknockmoy Hurling & Camogie club are hosting the event again this year on Sunday 1st Sept @ noon in Monivea Woods.

Last year from the funds raised, a donation of €1200 was made to CONSOLE and the club are hopeful to achieve the same again this year.

CONSOLE is a charity close to the hearts of many in the parish as they provide a counselling and bereavement service and this service is operated on a 24hr basis in many places across the country. It is vital to keep this service going.

There are prizes for various categories and there's also a family entry for €20 which includes a free 5 x 7 portrait at the finish line.

At 1:30pm the childrens race will be held in the village with great prizes for winners but also all children receive a certificate and goodie bag. Entry for this childrens race is €5.

The main run which starts at noon is a 5km AAI permitted route which has been Jones Counter measured.  A full result will be produced and published.
