Whether you want to lose some weight, improve your health, or just try something new Athenry AC’s Fit4 Life program will get you started and help you experience the many physical, mental and emotional benefits of running.
The program is broken into 9 week manageable blocks with the aim of getting members up off the couch and completing their first 5km.
TRAINING TIMES: Starting Monday 10th September 2018 (A gentle introduction. So come along without fear to learn a bit more!)
Every Monday and Wednesday @ 6:30 pm Joyce’s car park.
ENTRY DATES : All participants must join up before 19th September 2018.
What you need to get started:
Health Check – If you have any medical conditions or injuries it is essential that you discuss your training plans with your GP to ensure it’s right for you.
Attire – A good pair running shoes and comfortable light clothing. Layer up instead of jumpers as you’ll soon heat up!
Head Light/reflective vests – Without these, you will not be permitted to run.
Hydrate and make sure you’ve eaten a light meal more than 1 hour before the session.
Determination - The first few weeks are the toughest!
