Re: Invitation to our 10 Mile Road Race, July 8th 2017

Dear Friends in Running,

We, Roscommon Harriers Athletic Club would like to extend a very warm invitation to your club to join us for our annual 10 mile road race, which takes place on the outskirts of Roscommon Town on July 8th, 2017. Voted one of the Top 5, 10 Mile Road Races in Ireland by Running Ireland three years in a row. I have attached our poster for further information.

This event is in its 4th year, and continues to grow year on year, attracting both local and national runners. We are expecting over 500 participants this year alone, with each year we make improvements to ensure we offer the runner a quality race, new for 2017 includes a new course route AAI approved, it’s even flatter than previous years, making it ideal for those PB’s or for a runner who hasn’t raced a 10 mile as yet.

As well as cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd male and female winners we have added prize categories for each age group from the over 40’s right up to the over 70’s and if there are any over 80’s we will happily accommodate a prize for this category. We also have team prizes for clubs participating and offer entry discounts to clubs. Our early bird is currently running until May 1st, with a €20 entry fee and €25 euro thereafter. Online registration is available through Run Ireland, Pop Up Races and Athletics Ireland, for links to each registration site and up to date race information please follow us on Facebook www.facebook.com/rosharriers10miler.

This year also sees the introduction of a medal designed by a local artist, along with a high quality technical t-shirt and goodie bag. We have also organised a running expo on the day of the race. Our post event is always something to look forward to, we offer exceptional food and an after party for anyone who wishes to stay and enjoy the fun!

The monies raised from this annual race go towards our funding initiative for the development of an all-purpose athletics track for County Roscommon. It is hoped we will have secured enough monies to develop this much-needed athletics track for the County within the next 3 to 5 years.

I would be grateful if you could share this letter with your members and post our poster on your Facebook page. If you are interested in attending our race please contact me on 086 1715062 to discuss discounts available, accommodation, race info etc.

Hopefully we will meet on July 8th. Continued success with your club. Best wishes.

Yours in sport
