Regensburg, Germany - Venue for The 2007 Championships

The European Veteran’s Athletics Championships are being held in Regensburg, Germany from the 17th to 20th May next. (Championship website is at http://www.evaa2007-regensburg.com/english/index.php)

The main events are;

10Km Road Race

Half-Marathon

20/30k Walk

Cross Country Relays

TJ Beatty from Loughrea is considering whether it would be possible to assemble a group of athletes from the ’west’ to travel to these Championships. There are no set qualification standards for these races and all that is necessary is that each runner be a member of the Irish Masters Athletics Association (http://www.imaa.ie/) which costs in the region of Euro15.00. This is your chance to pull on a green singlet and to represent Ireland at these Championships.

There are numerous options for economical flights and accommodation to these championships which can become even more attractive if athletes can share transport.
