Claire McNamara and Paul Hession with represent Athenry AC at this weekend’s Woodie’s DIY National Senior Indoor Championships in the Belfast.

Paul Hession, fresh from his record breaking exploits in Austria and a superb performance in the British Indoor Championships last week is entered in both the 60m and 200m events. With such an outstanding start to his season Paul is surely hopeful of some big performances in Belfast and we wish him the very best of luck. Paul has already secured the qualifying time over 60m for the upcoming European Indoor Championships. The 60m heats are on at 17:55 on Saturday with the final of that event scheduled to take place at 15:35 on Sunday. The 200m heats are on at 19:35 on Saturday and the corresponding final at 16:25 on Sunday.

Claire McNamara will take her place in the high jump competition on Saturday evening at 20:00. Claire takes improving form into the competition having jumped 1m65 in the Scottish Indoor Championships at the end of January. We also, of course, pass on our best wishes to Claire for a good competition.
