Paul Hession displayed fantastic late season form to come withing a hair of claiming the last major international 200m title on offer this season. At the IAAF World Athletics Final in Stuttgart yesterday Paul powered off the bend in lane eight and delivered a fantastically strong run down the straight to close down all but the eventual winner Stéphane Buckland of Mauritius. When the photo-finish was examined it was clear that Paul had failed by only .01 of a second to claim the title.

Despite not being first past the post Paul must surely be very happy with such sparkling late season form in cold windy conditions.
