The hard work is done and the long miles are behind us.

Next Sunday morning, a few hardy members of Athenry AC will take to the Strassen of Berlin to complete in the 36th Real Berlin Marathon.

I'll be travelling with my old buddy, Dublin based Peter Lowney. Peter Strange has already made the trip to Deutschland and Cathal McLaughlin has been going great guns in traning by all accounts.

A good friend of Athenry AC, David 'The Sump' Huane will be donning the colours of Mayo AC, and Don Deacy is one of a number of Galway City Harriers making the trip.

You can sign up for free text alerts for when runners finish half way and the finish line, if you can't wait for a race report.

There is probably a few more Athenry AC members making the trip that I don't know about, as well as runners around Galway . Give them a mention in the comments below!
