Tough conditions prevailed in Kilbeggan yesterday at the National Senior Cross Country races.
Athenry AC were well represented, with Eimear Butler, Deirdre Hassett, Maeve Noone, Miriam Wall and Valerie Glavin making up the backbone of a Galway team which secured Silver team medals in the B Grade.
The mens team went one better, securing Gold medals in the B grade. Athenry representatives included Paul MacNamara, Mick Rice, Brian Bruton and Seamus Gilhooley. This reporter ran just for the fun of it!
Well Done to Mick Rice for acting as Chef d'Equipe and managing to field teams in both the Men's and Women's races.
