Not to be out-done by his multi-marathoning brother, young Johnny O'Connor, of this parish, was bombing around 'Bofin at the weekend and was first past the finish line in their annual  half marathon.

It's a welcome return to form for Mr.O'Connor who seems intent on proving that quality distance running, fatherhood and the odd sneaky smoke are not altogether mutually exclusive.

Mr O'Connor, that's a windy place out there, must have been tough alright.

I think Gary Doherty, Athenry AC, also won this race several years ago, so a double.
