Jane Ann Healy continued her impressive form this season in taking third place in Sunday's Kildare Half Marathon. She smashed her personal best for the distance in posting a superb 1:27:09 for the distance. After a relatively quiet spell last year on the racing front, Jane Ann has raced from strength to strength on the roads this season and she had set a personal best over 5km only last Tuesday evening in Tuam.
Jane Ann's superb form this season has been earned off the back of a relentless training regimen since the new year and will come as no surprise to anyone who has trained or raced in her company recently. She says she was very impressed with the event organisation in Kildate which will expand next year to encompass a full marathon race as welll as the half marathon race which debuted yesterday. The women's half-marathon was won by Patrycja Wlodarczyk and Jill Hodgins was second.
