Paul Hession equaled his season's best performance over 200m in Lausanne last night in a high class international field ahead of this weekend's AAI National Track and Field Championships in Santry. This was another top-class performance from Paul as he continues his build-up to the European Championships in Barcelona. Although such shining performances are perhaps what we've come to expect from Paul over the last number of years we shouldn't loose sight of the exceptional standard he is meeting in these races. This is sprinting of the very highest quality.
 
Speaking today Paul said,
 
"It was a good, solid run. I ran a good bend but lost a bit of ground after coming off the bend. It was a tough race with some great athletes which was perfect preparation for what I'll face at the Europeans. I just need to work on the aspects I can improve in the next couple of weeks and put it all together in Barcelona."
