A cracking day in Dublin and some magic performances to match it. Those stranded in the west were kept up to date [as much as I could manage] using our latest toy, the twitter feed.

Mick Rice was first home in a new PB of 2:44 followed closely by Brian O Connor and Brian Bruton. Owen Curran smashed the 3 hr demons but Johnny O Connor will have to try again as he finished just out the mark with 3:02.

A welcome return to these shores for Mark Breen with a time just outside 3 hours. Valerie Glavin was first Athenry woman home with a time of 3:10, winning the duel with Frank Burke, who wasn't far behind.

A tough day at the office for Phillip Magnier and Adrian Fitzmaurice, but they managed to keep it together to finish ahead of marathon debutante Aoife Callan who ran a storming 3:28.

Maeve Noone, along with another marathon firsttimer Deirdre Quinn finished in 3:42, ahead of pacemaker Ray O Connor who timed the 4 hour group to perfection.

Martin Keane must surely be inline for a V5 medal after a 4:19 run, while Peadar Nugent continues his sequence of completing every Dublin marathon to date.

I'm sure I missed a few - please add in some more in the comments. We'll try to get a full list up soon. Photos to follow.

A tough day for everyone, Alan, not just Adrian and myself   but very rewarding of course.

Congratulations on the many pb's out there, which I think includes Mick Rice, Brian O'Connor, Owen Curran, Val Glavin, Frank Burke, Maeve Noone, Tomas Mangan. And especially congrats to debutants (who of course also ran pb's) Aoife Callan, Deirdre Quinn. But let's not forget Brian Bruton, Johnny O'Connor, Lyall Guiney, Mark Breen (where did he do his training?, the Texas plains?), Adrian Fitzmaurice, myself, Ed Egan, Martin Keane, Peadar Nugent.

I know I've missed some people, but my mind is a bit blurred, back at work. All in all, it's got to be one of the very best Dublin days for Athenry. Long may we go up together.
