Athenry Juvenile athletes enjoyed great success at the Connacht Track and Field championships for ages U13 to U19 held in Athlone IT on Sundy 16th June. Special congratulations must go to our new Connacht champions: Evan Quirke Long Jump, Aubrey O'Brien Long Jump, Shannen Lee 1500m & 250m hurdles, Lydia Doyle 80m Hurdles and Brandon Lee in the 60m hurdles. Our U13 Boys relay team of Aubrey, Mark O'Brien, Christian Mullen and Brandon also scooped gold in their event.

Other medal winners on the day included Mark O'Brien in the Long jump, Laoise Collins in the Javelin and Shot putt, Niamh Hannon 80m sprint, Mathew Treacy U15 High Jump, Dean Treacy U13 High Jump and Brandon Lee who also took medals in the 600m and the sprint.

Well done to all our super athletes who did Athenry proud on the day and thanks to our coaches Dermot McNamara and Tony Collins who officiated at the event.
