Congratulations to Evan Quirke and Lydia Doyle who  put in fantastic performances in blazing sunshine and 24 degrees to win medals in the All Ireland U12- U19 Track and Field Championship in Tullamore yesterday. Evan took silver in the U17 Long Jump after a great competition where he very narrowly missed out on gold. Lydia Doyle  a great U14 75 m hurdles where she put in a great race clocking in at 11.92 secs, to take a well deserved bronze. Brandon Lee was very unlucky in the final of the U13 60 metre hurdles where he finished fourth.  Aubrey O'Brien put in an excellent performance in the U13 long jump to finish fifth with a jump of 4.51 metres, and also did well in the hurdles. Dean Treacy put in a very good permformance competing in the U13 High Jump, while Ruairi Collins improved on his PB in the U12 turbo javelin by adding 5 metres to his Connaught PB with a throw of 21.24 metres.

Well done to all our juvenile Athletes who did Athenry proud. It is a wonderful achievment in itself to qualify for the All-Irelands and compete against the very best athletes from every county in Ireland.  Great stuff!
