Best of luck to Jane-Ann!

Published in Club News on 5th December 2013

Last Friday night saw Athenry AC celebrate our Christmas party in Dowling’s Bar in the town (A big thanks to Yvonne & Will for putting us up in style) but prior to that we had the pre-Christmas party party (if that makes sense) as our local speedster & pain guru, Jane-Ann Meehan, held the official opening of her brand new Physiotherapy & Performance Clinic in the recently built Primary Health Care Centre.

With plenty of family, friends & Athenry AC members looking on, local Olympian & Athenry runner, Paul Hession, cut the ribbon on the shiny new building whilst the plentiful nibbles & prosecco ensured that there was no shortage of small talk amongst the crowd.

Alongside fellow Athenry AC member & Lead Performance Nutritionist with Athletics Ireland, Ruth Kilcawley, Jane-Ann aims to provide a centre of excellence for all of your sporting needs including preventative & rehabilitation treatments plus sports specific performance screening and more.

As most of us already know, Jane-Ann is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to all things running related & even more so when it comes to sports related injuries. Many of us regularly pick her brain for advice on pushing our bodies to the line (& over) and she is always more than willing to provide the answer.

In a tough economy it’s brilliant to see local business’ growing & expanding & I know everyone at Athenry AC wishes Jane-Ann all the best of success in the future.

For those of you who couldn’t make it last Friday you can take a look at Jane-Ann’s new website below;

 Finally, just a quick thank you from Jane-Ann;

 Just a quick note to say thank you for last Friday night 29th.

My mum commented that she had never seen such “a hungry looking bunch” and that the “food wouldn’t be eaten”.

I am glad to say you all proved her wrong. Not a scrap was leftover and surprisingly no booze was left either, what a bunch of athletes!!

Thank you for being there.

Thank you for getting me here.

I promise I will always do my best to get you there.
