Fit4Life is an initiative by Athletics Ireland for all runners whether you are a complete beginner or a regular jogging/runner. The programme will help you to achieve improved levels of fitness and wellness within the club structure in a fun and sociable environment. Participants are grouped by ability for training sessions allowing runners/walkers to train at an appropriate level. There is progression from walking to jogging to running so no previous experience is needed! The Fit4Life Leaders bring you through a 12 week plan and the first of these "blocks" starts on Saturday 9th January at 9am. After the 12 weeks as you progress your plan changes for the next 12 weeks and this continues for the year. The leaders are members of Athenry Athletics Club who volunteer their time to this role. They give advice, encouragement and support to the members of the Fit4Life group. The leaders generally have been running for a number of years and are experienced athletes. Fit4Life welcomes new members every 3 months with the following starting date on Saturday 2nd April. We train twice a week, Wednesday's at 7pm and Saturday at 9am and we meet at the Church Car Park in Athenry. Membership for Fit4Life costs €35 for the year. You can register online
