Carramore hosted their annual 10k Road Race last Saturday evening. The rain held off for the duration and the race was a great success, with a large contingent of Galway athletes making the trip to this excellent race. Mayo AC had a great night out at the races filling the first three places in the senior men's results and Catherine Conway also claimed the women's senior title.
Athenry AC fielded a men's team with the Brian O'Connor, Alan Burke, John O'Connor and, yours truly Mick Rice going to the line. Mr Chairman (aka Alan) had a great run posting a season's best of 36:26 and the rest of us did our best behind him. Valerie Glavin kept the flag flying for the Athenry AC women running 45:32 in a very strong women's race.
Our appreciation goes to all the organisers and volunteers in Carramore for their hospitality and for puting on such an enjoyable race.
